Understanding Canada’s New Firearm Laws
Buying or Transferring a Gun in Canada in 2024
Recent changes in Firearms law have drastically changed which guns can be transferred in Canada and who can buy them.
We have been issued a permit by the RCMP to Store or Purchase Restricted and prohibited firearms from individuals affected by these rule changes.
Changes in Firearms Laws (Bill C-21)
As of December 15, 2023, Individuals holding Handguns, semi-Automatic Rifles, Any Restricted or Prohibited Firearms in Canada are barred from selling or transferring these guns to other individuals unless they’re subject to rare exceptions.

What this means for you
If you are in possession of a firearm that falls under these new rules, or are managing the estate of someone who had these guns registered to them, the passage of this Bill has significantly limited who the guns can be transferred to.
Why RPAL Holders Are Affected by Bill C-21
Holding a Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (RPAL) is not sufficient to comply with the changes in legislation.
What Steller Management can do for you.
While the passage of C-21 significantly reduces the market value of firearms affected by the Bill, it does not mean that your only option is to surrender them to the RCMP.
After an inspection of your firearms, we can make you a no-obligation offer.
Alternatively, if there is someone that was intended to be the beneficiary of the Firearm before this Bill was enacted, We can Store the Guns for individuals or estates, or hold the firearms(s) in Trust for the beneficiary, in anticipation of this law being changed in the future.
